Marooners’ Talk: Episode 002 – “Bo Knows Podcasting”

The third episode of Marooners’ Talk, Episode 002, is now available on our site for listening and download in MP3 format! It should be available on iTunes this weekend, so make sure you keep your eyes open and your iTunes accounts ready to automatically download, since you must have subscribed by now. Episode 002, “Bo Knows Podcasting,” is a bit longer than the first two episodes, but it was fun, so tough.

We spend most of the podcast talking about old Nintendo/Genesis games and how bullshit some of them were in terms of difficulty or direction given to the player (Battletoads, Mario series, TMNT, Castlevaniai, Legend of Zelda, Ninja Gaiden, and more). We also discuss current games and how some of them feel like they’re holding your hand a bit too much, with a comparison to the difficulty of older games.

Duke Nukem Forever’s Balls of Steel edition, Activision’s strategy of buying good developers and under-marketing their games, Konami’s purchase and subsequent closure of Hudson Entertainment, Smallville’s trip to the Matrix, the Super Bowl movie trailers (Captain America, Super 8, Transformers 3, Thor, and Pirates of the Caribbean), X-Men: First Class, and more.

Listen and subscribe on iTunes! DO IT!

About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
