Calling All Evil Geniuses: Demiurge Studios Wants Your Robot Designs

Demiurge Studios, the developers of the upcoming downloadable game, “Shoot Many Robots”, has started the “Design Many Robots” contest and is asking for your best robot designs. Winners of the contest will have their robot featured in the first expansion of the game.

Along with the satisfaction of having created a video game character, Demiurge will also fly the winner to their facilities in Boston to see their robotic creation come to life (hopefully not literally). Once your pride and joy has been created, it will then be shot and blown up by players of the “Shoot Many Robots” expansion pack worldwide.

“Shoot Many Robots” is an 2D, action RPG, featuring co-op gameplay of up to four players. Gamers will have to work together online to fend off the robotic hordes through bullets, bombs and badassery. Enemies you destroy will release collectible nuts (as in nuts & bolts), which players can use to upgrade their characters’ gear. The game will be released sometime this year and you can follow the game on Facebook or Twitter.

To get the creative process going, Demiurge has released a trailer for the contest, along with some of their own robot designs. To get a sense of what the contest is looking for, watch the trailer on their website, or take a look at the robot concepts below.

About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
