Ubisoft Announces Two Release Dates and One Delay

Ubisoft “won” E3 2011, and then repeated their victory for E3 2011. Who did a better job of driving interest in the Wii U, Nintendo or Ubisoft? Ubisoft. Who managed to bring new fans in to a series that is expecting its fifth main console entry with a wonderful sense of gameplay progression in Assassin’s Creed III? Ubisoft. The list of E3 2012 accomplishments for Ubisoft goes on, but for now let’s focus on three items that have now been given solid release dates: Far Cry 3, Just Dance 4, and the Rocksmith bass expansion.

Just Dance 4 will be released on the Wii, 360, and PS3 in Europe on October 2, and in the US on October 9th. It is also expected to release within the Wii U’s launch window. Rocksmith’s bass expansion, which updates all of the disc-based and dlc-based songs with bass education, will be released in Europe for the 360 and PS3 on September 27th, and PC on October 18th. The US release date for all versions is October 16th. Far Cry 3 has been delayed to November 29th in Europe, and December 4th in the US.

From Dan Hay, producer at Ubisoft, regarding the Far Cry 3 delay:

We’re taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience. Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players.

Keep ‘em coming, Ubisoft.

About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
