Hi from Wizard World Chicago! There isn’t much from the looks of it news wise but I have been lucky enough to get to talk to some of the exhibitors and the people putting on the show. Tonight, I have a brief interview with Todd Greene from Supercon 2K. Todd and his organization have set up a bit of a gaming mecca up in Ballroom 21 here at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. I’d tell you all about it but I figure I’ll let Todd speak for himself. Read the full story

While I may have been off by a week or two, Mists of Pandaria will be released on 9/25/12. I had been guessing at a mid September launch. Aside from the regular and collector’s editions, Mists will launch with a digital and digital deluxe edition. This is the first time Blizzard has offered a digital deluxe edition in their Warcraft line. Here’s the official announcement: Read the full story

It’s here! Finally, it’s here! Today, the Arctic Strike Map Pack for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was released for PS3 and 360 and after playing it for most of the day I can say that it is good. Before I dive into what I like about the DLC pack, let’s get rid of the boring details. The pack brings a higher level cap, 3 new multiplayer maps, 1 new multiplayer gametype, 1 new Guerrilla Mode map, and 6 new guns. The Arctic Strike Map Pack will set you back 800 Microsoft points or $9.99 on Playstation Network. If this first paragraph is all that you read of this article then know that I think that the new maps alone are worth the price. Read the full story

In October 2011, Blizzard announced a charity auction in which they would sell their old server architecture. Interested parties could bid on the blades for their favorite World of Warcraft servers with the proceeds going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. While the prices were a bit high for me, I found the idea and the cause to be compelling and novel. For those of us who have played WoW since launch, those servers are something like a second home and I would have loved to display one of the blades from Lightbringer, Azuremyst, or Feathermoon proudly in my own home. Zenimax released the new teaser for the anticipated online version of their popular franchise, The Elder Scrolls. Admittedly, the tease doesn’t show much but take a look for yourself. We get to see a Nord, an Elf, and someone that looks like they could be in the Dark Brotherhood or the Thieves’ Guild, and that’s about it. It’s one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” sort of teasers, which is kind of frustrating. The game is set to launch sometime next year and we don’t even get a brief gameplay trailer to accompany the cinematic teaser? Read the full story

Nearly a decade in the making, Diablo 3 finally decided to grace the gaming public with its presence, and after all the login errors settled, what were we left with? A solid Diablo experience that saw upgrades to many of the core systems and a pretty, though not overwhelming, visual presentation. In the end I was satisfied but still wanting more; read on for more details. Read the full story

Over the years I’ve always toyed with the idea of getting a really high end headset for my PC gaming. In the end, I’ve always talked myself out of it because I already had speakers, or I just never quite saw the full benefit of them when I could get a cheap headset for voice communication instead. Over the last few days I’ve been spending some time with the Siberia V2 Pro Gaming Headset from SteelSeries, and I can honestly say that I was wrong about high end headsets. Read the full story

I’ve been using a gaming mouse of some sort for the last 6 years or so. I started with the Logitech G5, and then transitioned to the Razer Naga. Recently, I’ve had the chance to go hands on with the Sensei from SteelSeries, their response to the high end mice from Razer and Logitech. Read the full story
