Dishonored Given Release Date

I am, for some reason, just now beginning to realize that this is going to be an incredibly busy and time consuming year for me. Adding to the already myriad gaming options I will be faced with over the coming months, Bethesda has given their steampunk sorcery stealth assassin title, Dishonored, a release date of October 9, 2012. It’s smart timing, as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully I can get through FarCry 3 and Borderlands 2 in September, then finish Dishonored before Assassin’s Creed III hits at the end of October.

Just hook it to my veins!

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier “Arctic Strike” DLC Announced

We’re less than two weeks away from the launch of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated team-shooter, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The anticipation is palpable in this lead-up period. In an attempt to appease the withdrawal symptoms of the masses, Ubisoft has announced today its “Arctic Strike” DLC pack for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Worry not, this is not Day One DLC. The current release date for the pack is July 3, 2012, at 800MSP/$9.99. With it comes  new multiplayer maps, a new multiplayer mode, a new Guerilla mode co-op map, and six new weapons to kick ass with. Read the full story

Assassin’s Creed III Teaser – Unite to Unlock Gameplay Trailer

Today, Ubisoft has launched a new crowd-source project. They’ve done it before, obviously successfully, so there’s no surprise that the bastards continue to tease us so relentlessly. What is this project; this tease? A teaser trailer has been released for Assassin’s Creed III showing Connor as he hunts down a British redcoat soldier through a snowy forest. An arrow to the knee takes the soldier down, and as Connor approaches with his tomahawk in his hand…the trailer ends (hence it being a teaser), directing the viewer to Unite to Unlock the gameplay trailer. Review: Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (XBLA)

Five days ago, I had never played Minecraft. I didn’t understand the fascination, or obsession, with it, and I was content. Having spent the past five days in my personal realm of Doompocalypse, a land of opportunity, freedom, and dreams fulfilled, I begin to understand. Minecraft is the frontier. When Americans were blazing new trails into the west, they went with what they could carry or cart, and built everything else they needed. When settlers participated in the Land Run of 1889 into unincorporated Oklahoma, they traveled as light as possible to get to ground as quickly as possible. From nothing, they build civilization. That is Minecraft. From nothing but the clothes on your back and a map in your hands, you build…anything. Read the full story

About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
