For quite a while I’ve been using the latest Windows Phone released from HTC/Verizon, known as the Windows Phone 8X. When it comes to cell phones I look for a lot in the devices, which can range from the look, how the O/S handles, the battery life, and other things as well. What makes the new Windows Phone 8X good or bad? That’s a good question! Would you like to know what I liked and disliked about this newer device? That’s what you’ll find out in this review of the Windows Phone 8X from HTC. Read the full story

Lately, I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy SIII thanks to Verizon Wireless. When it comes to smartphones some people look for devices that are low in cost, great battery life, what applications work with it, and many other features. The Samsung Galaxy SIII had many features I liked as I used it for a short time. Now I know you must be thinking what is good and or bad about this smart phone? Honestly, a lot of good things came out of this phone that I’ll explain during this review. What about the bad? I’ll go to that as well. Read the full story

As I’ve said before, there are a lot of smartphones on the market and there are a lot of similarities and differences across these devices. The latest phone I’ve been using has been the Droid Incredibly 4G LTE from Verizon Wireless. It was an interesting device, but didn’t really do anything to stand out and pull me in like some others have done in the past. Most smartphones today offer a lot, but usually at a cost; maybe the battery life, screen size, or size of the phone itself. What makes the Droid Incredibly good or bad? Let’s find out. We’ve all heard them: “big fish” tales about exploits that are possible, but perhaps too good to be true. “I no-scoped four guys from across the map while jumping!” Yeah, and I’m Master Chief. “I completed Ecco the Dolphin in one sitting (or at all)!” Okay, tell me more, Flipper. “I found the cake in Portal!” Must be where you found that lie too, buddy! Whether you care to admit it or not, you’ve told your own tall tale. It used to be exorbitantly expensive to acquire the PVR hardware you needed to prove your tales true in stunning HD. Roxio has made a direct move to make HD capture affordable and functional with their Roxio Game Capture HD Pro, a follow-up to last year’s non-HD Roxio Game Capture Device. Read the full story

There are a heck of a lot of cell phones out in the market, and a lot of them provide different features. I’ve used the Razr MAXX, and many others, and noticed many differences. Some are better for business, while some are better for games, and others are best for simple casual uses such as texting and talking. Most recently, I’ve had my hands on the 4G LTE Droid 4 from Verizon Wireless. I’ve been using it for a little while now, and I enjoyed using it for both games and for keeping in contact with my family and friends. Read the full story

Mad Catz, with their TRITTON line of Xbox 360 exclusive headsets, seem to be well on their way towards the construction of an auditory weapon of mass destruction. Don’t follow? Let’s take a look at their 360-exclusive range and see if things become more clear. Are you in the market for an entry-level wired stereo headset? Try out the Trigger, or the Detonator. Perhaps wired just doesn’t cut it for you, and you want your stereo headset to run wireless? Why not try the Primer, or the as yet unreleased Devastator? You want a full wireless 7.1 Dolby surround sound headset? The most recent offering, the Warhead, is the headset for you. Read the full story

Drummers absolutely need one skill to be successful: rhythm. It’s a funny thing, rhythm; you either have it, or you don’t. If you have it, you know you have it. If you don’t have it, you either know you don’t have it, or you know you have it and the people who tell you otherwise are just JEALOUS. I know I have it. It’s what makes me a great drummer, an absolutely phenomenal dancer, a dynamite foot-tapper, and one of the most incredible human beatboxes ever to roam this earth. At least one of those things is true, and as a dynamite foot-tapper, I need something great to tap my foot to. That’s where the Mad Catz Wireless PRO-Drum and PRO-Cymbals kit comes in. I’ve always had an affinity for the musical arts. I picked up violin in the fourth grade after spending Kindergarten through third grade becoming a guitar virtuoso. To be fair, the guitar was made of plastic and had little buttons along the fret that played totally radical riffs, but I was a bloody rock god and I don’t care what anyone else says about it. Back then, in the late 80s and early 90s, I thought that I was experiencing the absolute best that the world would ever offer in the field of pretend rocking out. Nearly fifteen years later, Harmonix blew people away with Guitar Hero, and followed that up with giving people the ability to play as a full band with Rock Band. The quality of a game like Rock Band 3, Harmonix’s most recent outing, is entirely limited by the quality of the peripheral hardware used to play it. This is where Mad Catz comes in. Most standard Xbox 360 controllers, whether they’re manufactured by Microsoft or by a third party, are pretty much the same in every way but price. That’s not the case with the Xbox 360 controller I’ve been using recently. When it comes to modding, I support it to a certain point, ranging from cosmetic changes to additional functionality. The team at EinsteinModz creates some very unique looking mods for controllers, ranging from glowing thumb sticks, backlit ABXY buttons, and controller face paint. Read the full story

Over the years I’ve always toyed with the idea of getting a really high end headset for my PC gaming. In the end, I’ve always talked myself out of it because I already had speakers, or I just never quite saw the full benefit of them when I could get a cheap headset for voice communication instead. Over the last few days I’ve been spending some time with the Siberia V2 Pro Gaming Headset from SteelSeries, and I can honestly say that I was wrong about high end headsets. Read the full story
