With the early launch of the Mechromancer DLC, it’ll of course add more fun times with friends. Now what seems to be the big news this time? That’s what you’re here to find out!

It’s time to take a trip back to Pandora. You remember your first trip? Roland, Lilith, Brick, and Mordecai searching for the vault with the help of CL4P-TP (more commonly known as Claptrap) put you in the middle of a grand adventure leading to an empty vault. Or so you thought…Something has changed, and now a new set of vault hunters are going to Pandora with the vault in their sights, and you get to join them. Does Borderlands 2 live up to the experience provided in Borderlands, or is it just more of the same? Read the full story

Today, 2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that they will offer four new add-on content campaigns following the release of Borderlands 2. Each of these upcoming DLC packs will be available for $9.99 / 800 MSP. Looking to get in early and grab them all at a discount? It seems that 2K/Gearbox have gone the Season Pass route, and are offering a Borderlands 2 Season Pass to grant gamers access to all four add-ons as they’re released. The Season Pass combines all $39.96 / 3,200 MSP worth of add-on content for a one-time price of $29.99 / 2400 MSP. If you’re planning on playing through all of the DLC anyway, that’s one hell of a deal. The DLC is planning on releasing through July 2013. Read the full story

In the lead-up to Gamescom, and at Gamescom itself, trailers were being pumped out by the handful. Rather than put up a separate post for each trailer with a few sentences introducing it, I decided that this time, I’d just put all of the trailers up at once and save both me and you a shitload of time. Below, you will find trailers for Borderlands 2, Rayman Legends, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Star Trek, and Rocksmith. There are definitely more trailers from the past week or so that we’ve missed, but these are some of those more relevant to my interests, which is what I know best. Read the full story

SURPRISE BONUS EPISODE! As you may or may not know, Lindsey has been AFK as far as the site is concerned for the better part of the last year due to her job at BioWare. As you may or may not ALSO know, she is no longer bound by that restriction, so an impromptu podcast episode was recorded! Episode 037 of Marooners’ Talk, “The Original Flava,” is just Lindsey and myself, just like it was in the old days of the MehCast (for those of you who have been around that long), and it marks the first Marooners’ Talk that Lindsey has been on since EPISODE ELEVEN. The normal Marooners’ Talk Co-Conspirators, Thom and Adam, will (if available) return in this weekend’s normal recording. Read the full story

When I was in fourth grade, I was in a radio commercial back in my hometown of Oklahoma City. The five best readers in the school district were chosen to participate in the commercial, so one day we all drove down to KOMA, the local Oldies station, and started to lay down some mad tracks. Even though they gave me a cassette of the commercial, I wanted to listen to it on the air, so I started listening to the station all the time. This resulted in me getting massive exposure to music from the 50s and 60s, which I quite enjoyed. One of the more entertaining songs (especially for a fourth grader) was a song called “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” (also known as “Wimoweh”). It was full of whimsy and joy. Read the full story

The original idea for this episode of the Marooners’ Talk podcast was to really get into our anticipated titles for the rest of calendar year 2012. While we eventually got around to that, I believe our first 30-45 minutes focused on Internet providers, Doctor Who, used games, and various other topics. Come to think of it, the last 15 minutes kind of got off topic, too, so you’ve got about 45-50 minutes of anticipation discussion in “Looking Forward,” Episode 023 of Marooners’ Talk.
