Marooners’ Talk: Episode 030 – “Old People Talking About Cartoons”


With my step-daughter’s birthday last weekend being the extraordinarily exorbitant affair that it was, I was, in the simplest of terms…pooped. Therefore, there was no podcast episode last week. Problem? Tough. This week, “Old People Talking About Cartoons,” Episode 030 of Marooners’ Talk, starts off with a group of almost-30-somethings (the titular “Old People”) discussing (the titular “Talking About”) the recent return (upcoming return at the time of the recording) of Cartoon Network’s Toonami programming block (the titular “Cartoons”). I say “starts off,” because for the FIRST TIME EVER IN A MAROONERS’ TALK PODCAST, we go off on multiple tangents that end up taking up nearly two-thirds of the extra long one-and-a-half hour episode. Toonami Announces Line-up of Awesome Anime Titles


The recent announcement of Toonami’s return had everyone on Twitter and Facebook jumping for joy. Now, it seems that the list of shows has been announced. Jason DeMarco, now VP of Marketing and Promotions for Cartoon Network, confirmed this listing via his Twitter account.

Toonami’s Back, Bitches


Just moments ago, Adult Swim made an announcement on Twitter. “Attention Toonami Faithful: We heard you. On 05.26.12 #ToonamisBackBitches.” Now, when I glanced at Twitter and saw this news, I absolutely went crazy, as I used to watch Toonami back in its heyday. Finally, another generation of kids and fans will get the chance to watch some of the amazing shows we used to watch when we came home from school. Honestly, who wasn’t a fan of Dragon Ball Z, and the other series that made Toonami great?
