Even now, nearly two years after its release, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a beautiful game. I watched my wife play through the entire game, through the ending (which I have to assume has been sufficiently spoiled by the new Lords of Shadow 2 trailer released by Konami in the lead-up to E3 last week). As we touched upon in the most recent podcast, the game feels very long (because it is long), and I can’t bring myself to sit at it longer than I do in order to beat it. That’s more my fault, than the game’s, though, and seeing what lies in store for us with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has reignited my desire to finish the first before next year’s release. Moments ago, Marvel did a live-streamed press conference announcing a new seven issue series, Fear Itself, starting in April of 2011 with a preview in March 2011, starring Captain America and a few others back in World War II. Brought to life by Matt Fraction, Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, and Laura Martin, this seven-issue series will run $3.99 per issue, except for the larger-than-normal first and last issues. As a fan of real vampire movies, I can’t even begin to describe how disgusted I am by the Twilight books and films. If you are a fan of either, I’m sorry. Not only do you have poor taste, but I think you need to get some serious psychiatric help. There’s been an on-going debate between fans of Harry Potter and Twilight. Today, I’m here to settle it. There are so many ways in which Harry Potter is superior to Twilight, but rather than beating the issue like a dead horse, I will focus on the important things, like how vampires don’t sparkle.
