Ghost Recon Online inches its way closer and closer to its free to play release, bringing with it visually appealing squad based shooter fun. There’s a definite team mentality to Ghost Recon Online, and that’s made very clear in the latest trailer. Previously, we got a brief look at the three playable classes of Ghost Recon Online: Assault, Recon, and Specialist. Now, we get a more in depth look at the Recon class, what weapons they have available to them, what abilities they can utilize, and what team bonuses they bring to the table. Read the full story

Ubisoft is definitely looking to make 2012 the year of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon. One of my more anticipated titles for this year, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, releases this May. Another anticipated title from last year’s E3, however, was Ghost Recon Online. A free-to-play, microtransaction supported online multiplayer PC game, Ghost Recon Online enters closed beta March 5th (you can sign up for the beta here). Many games require you to purchase the software and then the game is subscription free. I had already tried Guild Wars, and did not find it as feature rich as I would have wanted. That’s when Everquest II:Extendedcaught my eye. The game is free to download, and getting set up is as simple as creating an account and a character. Now, there are good and bad things to this “free” game, but I will only be looking at this from a noob viewpoint. I don’t intend to go into major details of the community or UI, since I am said Noob.
