A few minutes ago, I was on Twitter and something caught my eye: a tweet from One of Swords about Soundgarden. Having been a fan for almost two decades, I had to read on some more. So, I was deeply saddened the other night when on Twitter I saw that Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer) was performing at the Activision E3 event, for what I can only assume was to help promote Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. If you are unfamiliar with my love for Maynard, please read this post. What really made it worse was when I heard he was performing Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. Truly a classic song. I admit, I was a little skeptical because Freddie Mercury was a beast, and his vocal skills are incredibly hard to top.
However, after watching this video, which was oh so kindly uploaded onto YouTube by InsaneFameNYC, I think MJK did a great job. Like I said, it’s hard to top the amazingness that is, and forever will be, Freddie Mercury. Joining him was Billy Howerdel, you know… the guitar player from when Maynard was doing A Perfect Circle, and also a massive choir. Anyways, check out the video for yourself and let me know what you thought!
