Well, stop crying and load up your PC, because we have some great news for you! Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is now available via Games for Windows LIVE and can be purchased here. I haven’t had a chance to play it, other than the multiplayer beta, but it looks like the PC version will be everything that the console version is, except with better graphics!

Review: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (360)

At last year’s E3, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was one of the highlights of the titles Ubisoft had to offer. To be perfectly fair, most of the titles that Ubisoft had to offer last year were the highlights of what Ubisoft had to offer, but this review is for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, so for the purposes of this review, it was totally one of the more impressive highlights. For me, at least, it was definitely the most surprising. Ghost Recon games have never been my forte, but here was a Ghost Recon game that not only could I play (and play well), but that I enjoyed playing. It was this aspect of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that highlighted it for me, and made me look forward to its release. Read the full story

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier “Arctic Strike” DLC Announced

We’re less than two weeks away from the launch of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated team-shooter, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The anticipation is palpable in this lead-up period. With the extended multiplayer beta coming to a close yesterday, we’re left with twitching fingers absent purpose for a few days more. In an attempt to appease the withdrawal symptoms of the masses, Ubisoft has announced today its “Arctic Strike” DLC pack for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Worry not, this is not Day One DLC. The current release date for the pack is July 3, 2012, at 800MSP/$9.99. With it comes  new multiplayer maps, a new multiplayer mode, a new Guerilla mode co-op map, and six new weapons to kick ass with. Read the full story

Marooners’ Talk: Episode 027 – “Thom Clancy Talks Ghost Recon”

If that episode title doesn’t grab your attention, then I don’t know what will. What’s that? I spelled his name wrong? No, we weren’t lucky enough to have Tom Clancy himself join in and discuss his creation. In “Thom Clancy Talks Ghost Recon,” the 27th episode of Marooners’ Talk, I, along with Thom Clancy, son of Tom Clancy, talk about our experiences with the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer beta, how it has improved from the multiplayer presented at last year’s E3, and what we’re looking forward to with the upcoming retail release of the title.

As always, you can listen instantly below or subscribe on iTunes and listen on the go! So, you know, do that. Or not. Whatever. Jerk.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier – Multiplayer Beta Impressions

Let me start by saying this: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s multiplayer has come a long way since E3 last year, and it was already tight and fairly well balanced back then. This game is smooth, fun, addictive, and the most fun I’ve had with friends online in a very long time. Are there some issues with it? Yeah, it’s a beta. There’s some lag and I hate snipers (not because I can’t snipe…at all.  That’s a silly allegation >.>). It’s all still real fresh in my head so bear with me as I give you a quick rundown of what I saw. Read the full story

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Multiplayer Beta Dated and Ghost Recon Network Announced

The term “two weeks” is very powerful. For Tom Hanks and Shelley Long in the 1986 classic The Money Pit, “two weeks” was the timeline for home completion…for months. Now, I’m going to say it. Two weeks. My “two weeks” has two meanings. First, it’s the time until April 19th, which marks the beginning of the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier multiplayer beta. Second, it’s the running time of the beta, which will end two weeks later, on May 2nd. So, be excited that the multiplayer beta is only two weeks away (or that you still have to wait two whole weeks for it), but be sad that it will only last for two weeks. Read the full story

Ghost Recon Assaults Facebook

It’s no secret that I am pretty damn excited for Ubisoft’s upcoming Tom Clancy shooter, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. When I got my hands on it at last year’s E3, I fell in love, and that feeling has not subsided; rather, it has grown as time has passed. Now, Ubisoft, via developer Loot Drop, is giving us Ghost Recon on Facebook, with Ghost Recon Commander. Normally, I wouldn’t really care about this kind of thing, because I’m just not a huge fan of Facebook games. Even Heroes of Neverwinter was only able to hold my attention for so long, and I am a sucker for Neverwinter. I care about Ghost Recon Commander, though, because playing it can help unlock exclusive items and bonuses for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Boost my GR:FS gameplay by farting around on Facebook while I’m at the office? Yes, please! Read the full story

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Gets a PC Date and System Requirements

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is easily one of my most anticipated titles for calendar year 2012. I loved my experience with it at E3 last year, and everything I’ve seen supporting it over the last few months has been absolutely spectacular. I’ll be playing on the Xbox 360, since I currently lack a PC capable of playing even the simplest of games, but with today’s announcement of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s PC date, system requirements, and the first PC screenshot being revealed, the temptation to invest in a new rig is nigh irresistible. About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
