Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat? Why, that just makes so much damn sense!

GoldenEye is one of the best games of all time. This status really isn’t in dispute anymore, seeing as it’s been remade and now re-remade. You’ve gotta figure that somebody out there must really want more versions of this specific game. Well, they’ve got it. The remake of GoldenEye is coming to the big high def consoles and we have some screen shots, along with a trailer, direct from Comic Con to show you how things are progressing.

Back at the turn of the century, a little PC game by American McGee was released, creating a follow up story to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland in gruesome fashion. It turned a classic tale of wonder into a cornucopia of nightmare visions. The game developed an incredible cult following, and now, 11 years out, we finally get a sequel. Alice: Madness Returns is a perfect example of how difficult it can be to balance style and substance while living up to the expectations of long time fans. The focus of McGee is certainly on the style side of things, which leaves gaps in the gameplay, but provided you can look past the hiccups, it is hard to hold too much against him. I’m going to go a bit hipster on you right now. Before it was mainstream and popular, I read comics. Before it was mainstream and popular, I ran around on the playground pretending Rogue was my girlfriend and adamantium claws were popping out of my fists. Before it was mainstream and popular, I was collecting and trading Fleer Ultra cards with my like-minded friends. I am a X-Nerd, and I can’t wait for X-Men Destiny. Read the full story

Lucha Fury is a good-looking game, and you can tell that Punchers Impact treated the game as a labor of love. Four luchador wrestlers (who are also slackers) come together to stop a shortage of their favorite energy drink only to stumble upon something more sinister; this is no normal shortage. Ancient Gods are stealing the world’s supply of Pollojo, because they don’t think the human race deserves to have it. Quite a silly premise for a story, but is it enough to keep you entertained throughout the game? Read the full story

It would pretty much be the perfect action puzzle game if that stupid bitch would just shut the hell up at times.

There are few things as satisfying to my sense of humor as slapstick comedy. Wipeout is an hour long TV show of slapstick comedy performed by people who really don’t want to be slammed in the face with a giant foam fist, or vaulted into a giant pool after bouncing haphazardly off a giant red bouncy ball. Call me crazy, but I like what I like, and that’s one thing I like. Wipeout In The Zone does a good job of bringing that haphazard prat fall comedy to the Xbox 360 and Kinect, even if it doesn’t do a good job in other areas. Read the full story

To summarize in one paragraph: playing Magic on a video game console against the computer is akin to playing against the biggest jerk you associate with.

Half-Minute Hero began life essentially as freeware known as 30-Second Hero originally developed by UUE. A unique take on the Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) formula, players had 30 seconds to beat an evil wizard and save the world from certain destruction. In 2009, the game would be adopted by Marvelous Entertainment where they would make the move from a standalone 1 MB game and add 5 other different modes. The newly christened Half-Minute Hero would be released as an exclusive to Sony’s PSP where it would go on to win several awards from RPG focused sites. Now, two years later, Marvelous Entertainment brings Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax to the Xbox Live Arcade, with a fresh coat of paint, and 62 new levels. The game play is essentially the same as it was on PSP, so fans should be right at home with this version. Let’s see if this version stacks up to its new sub-title; is it really a Super Mega Neo Climax?

Everyone likes to brag about their gaming achievements. Everyone loves to tell Falstaff tales about how they took out four Borgia guards single-handedly using only their double hidden blades in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Everyone loves to tell big fish stories about a great racing win in SEGA Rally Online Arcade. Everyone loves to recount their legendary musical shooter performance in Child of Eden. Few, however, can actually substantiate their claims of performance. Certain PVR products are far too expensive for someone who just wants to grab some bragging clips, while others are just shoddy. Enter the Roxio Game Capture. Read the full story
